About Me

I'm Natalie Oceanheart — a Ukrainian woman, a memoirist, and a survivor of displacement.

When the world I knew fell apart, writing became my way to hold it together. In the chaos of war, immigration, and loss, stories became my anchor — a way to process, to breathe, and to find light in the darkest corners.

Now I write for those who’ve felt fear, grief, guilt, and the quiet, stubborn power of beginning again.
For anyone who has ever wondered if they’re strong enough — you are.
For anyone who’s had to leave home behind — you’re not alone.

My words are not polished answers, but raw truths. I write to connect, to heal, and to remind us all that even after everything, beauty still grows.

About the Book

This book is both my cry for help and a whisper of hope.

It tells the story of how my family and I endured war in Ukraine, left everything behind, wandered through Europe, and began again in America. But it’s not just about war — it’s about rediscovering yourself in the chaos, about guilt, resilience, and the strange joy that finds you even in darkness.

Life Beyond Fear is my attempt to understand what no longer hurts — and to honor what still does.

It’s about breaking through the asphalt like a seedling, carrying not just physical baggage, but childhood fears and grown-up grief.

Above all, it’s a reminder: every storm can make us stronger.

And beyond fear, life begins.

Dear Reader,
Thank you for opening your heart to my story. May you find your own strength in these pages.
